Health and Wellness

Job Corps provides you with BASIC health services:

  • Medical Care for minor illnesses and injuries
  • Dental Services
  • Mental Health Services
  • Alcohol and other drugs of abuse through TEAP* counseling
  • Smoking Cessation Program
  • Weight Loss and Fitness Counseling
  • Works with you to define health risks and choose healthy life-styles and maintain wellness

The Health and Wellness Center assists you in participating in Cascades Job Corps program by maintaining your good health, identifying health risks, and improving your health during your stay.

Wellness Program

The Cascades Job Corps Center offers help in several areas to assist you in developing your own personal wellness program. A physical examination upon entry includes:

  • Health and Vision screening
  • Dental examination
  • Height and Weight
  • Laboratory testing
  • STD screening
  • T.B. testing
  • Flu vaccinations are offered each year
  • Smoking Cessation classes are offered if you wish to quit smoking
  • Weight loss and fitness counseling are available

Trainee Employee Assistance Program (TEAP)

The *TEAP program helps you if:

  • You think you have an alcohol or drug problem
  • You think you have "significant others" who have an alcohol or drug problem
  • You believe your own alcohol or other drug use puts you at risk of difficulty in achieving your goals

We have better things to do than drugs!

Cascades Zero Tolerance Policy

Cascades Job Corps abides by the Zero Tolerance Policy set by the U.S. Department of Labor. The Zero Tolerance Policy states that you and everyone else on this campus has the right to live, learn, and work in a safe and secure environment. Any student who violates this policy and is found guilty by the Center Review Board of the following charges WILL be separated from the program:

  • possession of gun or illegal weapon on Center
  • physical assault that causes bodily harm
  • sexual assault of a criminal nature
  • robbery and extortion
  • arson
  • arrest for a felony on or off Center
  • and possession, distribution, or sale of drugs or alcohol on Center.
